In the Healthy Living Room, find the virtual classes and resources that work for you including on-demand workouts and live classes, resources for keeping your brain and body healthy, and plenty of active activities for families.

The Family Room brings the Y into your home with live and on-demand virtual content designed to engage kids, teens, and families. Try intentional moments to calm the soul, STEAM projects to keep minds moving and learning, family games to share laughs and smiles, or bring the magic of summer to your home with camp fun.

Each class will begin with a presentation of information related to the topic and conclude with a live cooking demonstration. Recipes to recreate the delicious and healthy meals are provided.   • Poetry Workshop | December 4, 12:00 - 1:00pm and ongoing
    Poetry is a wonderful way to convey emotions, share ideas, and entertain the audience all in one. Join a local Y member and widely-published poet, Terry Busch, to discover your creative writing side. Elementary

  • Camp in a Box 
    During winter, mid-winter, and spring breaks from elementary school, the Y's Camp in a Box brings the magic of summer camp to wherever you are. Each week, the box will be filled with the tools you need to explore the great nearby, including classic camp activities like arts and crafts and hands-on STEM projects (science, technology, engineering and math). Plus, campers will stay connected with each other and their counselor through twice daily interactive meetings. Learn more > 
     
  • After School in a Box
    Make the most of after-school time with virtual enrichment activities that encourage skill-building and creative exploration in a supportive environment. Next session starts January 11. Learn more >
     
  • Play Zone
    Play Zone connects kids virtually after school with a daily drop-in, play-based program geared towards students in kindergarten to 3rd grade that promises to engage with silly games and fun projects. It brings what the Y knows best about after-school child care into the home virtually to help parents bridge the gap between the end of the school day and dinner time.   • Enrichment Emporium
    Subscribe to the Y's library of on-demand enrichment videos with hours of lessons, activities, and projects for every kid. It is the perfect place for elementary students to spark new interests, dive deep into a specific topic, and discover what they love. Free for Y members through 2020. Learn more >
     
  • Kids in the Kitchen
    Join us every week for a virtual cooking class, for ages 5 to 8. Our instructor will guide kids through recipes teaching age-appropriate cooking skills, providing tips, and answering questions. Free for Y members. Learn more >
     
  • Future Chefs
    Dive deep into a specific skill in this special cooking class for kids ages 8 to 13. Learn about ingredients and nutrition, practice techniques, and build your culinary repertoire. Free for Y members. Learn more >
     
  • Martial Arts
    Take Tae Kwon Do virtually! Students learn punches, blocks, and self-defense techniques, but kicks are the Tae Kwon Do trademark. Next session starts November 10. Learn more >
     
  • Coding
    Are you ready to learn more about computer programming? Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this FREE virtual coding series will help youth ages 11 to 15 develop skills and increase technological literacy through hands-on instruction in computer coding.   • Teen Talks
    Even in this unpredictable time, you still can engage with your community, make a difference, and become a leader virtually. Find your interests and get engaged today! Teen talks are free for all middle and high school students. Learn more >
     
  • Teen Leadership Workshops
    Grow your leadership skills, make new friends, build connections, and expand on your talents during these virtual workshops. Each workshop will provide an opportunity to engage with your peers while learning and practicing new leadership skills. These workshops are free and open to all middle and high school students, so invite your friends! Learn more >
     
  • Youth Legislature
    Become familiar with the legislative process, the art of debate, and public speaking, all online from home! Alongside their peers, students will have the opportunity to study current issues, draft legislative bills, debate topics important to them, and assume the roles of various elected officials. The program starts in late October and runs for 8 months. Learn more >
     
  • YMCA Earth Service Corps
    Our planet's future depends on us. In Earth Service Corps, teens meet virtually to take on the environmental issues facing their communities, hear from guest speakers, and create projects to address these needs. Learn more >
