2021 Annual Fund Drive

Through this historic and unprecedented time, the Y is here. Showing up every single day to ensure that we come out of this crisis with a community that isn’t just surviving, but a community that is thriving. We cannot do it alone though, we need your help.

One of the easiest ways to make a tangible impact right now is to start a Facebook fundraiser.

Just follow this link to start setting up your Facebook Fundraiser for the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

Tips to make your fundraiser even more successful

Customize your posts - When you first share your fundraiser page, make it personal. Sharing why you care about YMCA programs and their impact in the community helps your friends emotionally connect to the issue and motivates them to support your fundraiser. Perhaps you know a family that is benefiting from childcare or a young adult in Y housing. Sharing why this cause matters to you on a personal level (while protecting others’ privacy, of course) will help others understand the issues and the impact their contribution can have.

Sample posts:

"As a member/volunteer of/for the ___ YMCA, I’m excited to be raising funds to help our community. Will you join me in supporting the Y?"

"I’m so proud to work volunteer/be part of the YMCA of Greater Seattle because we it’s so much more than a gym or a pool. The Y is a nonprofit organization, offering health, hope, and opportunity to our community! By providing affordable early learning programs and child care, feeding vulnerable children and families, providing camping and outdoor leadership programs for youth and young adults, and learning initiatives and resources around equity and justice, and the Y is so much more and vital to our community to thrive. Will you join me?"

Share updates on your post and share again

Inevitably, people will stop seeing your original post after a few days as it makes its way to the bottom of their feeds. The best way to reach your goal (if you don’t in the first few days) is to keep sharing it with updated posts every so often. And don’t forget to thank your friends who give!
