 The Center for Young Adults
Providing young adults who have experienced foster care or homelessness with the resources and skills they need to move toward independence.            
        

Building long-term, positive relationships and a sense of community are at the core of YMCA of Greater Seattle Young Adult Services. Through The Center, we provide a welcoming, comfortable environment and key resources for young adults transitioning to independence. Young people who have experienced foster care or homelessness tap the resources of The Center to develop a support system that gives them the knowledge and skills they need to thrive as adults. The Center's client-centered approach provides a gateway to services, increase self-determination and provides ongoing, comprehensive support.

The Center is the gateway to Young Adult Services, which is made up of three programs that serve young people as they transition into adulthood.  To find out more about each of these programs, please click on the links below:

What we offer:
The journey at The Center begins with information describing the services we provide in four key areas: Housing, Education, Employment Services and Life Skills. Services are individually based allowing staff to develop individualized goals for young adults, ages 17 - 25, to work toward independence.

    How to access services
    Young adults visiting The Center for the first time can walk in without an appointment. They will be greeted by a YMCA staff member or volunteer who will introduce them to The Center, help to identify their needs and goals and explore how The Center's resources can meet these needs.
