Why invest in positive solutions?
Help make your community a better place through the YMCA.  Join with donors who share belief that regardless of the challenges children, teens or families face, their unique talents can be strengthened.  Your donation supports YMCA programs and facility development, the critical tools that give vulnerable community members a greater chance for success.

Your gift is greatly appreciated and fully deductible as a charitable contribution.  The YMCA is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization under IRS code.

"They YMCA encourages an attitude of kindness, acceptance in all of their programs.  The whole organization has a very good feel to it.  I like being a part of that and supporting that with my time and donation."  -- Nathan, volunteer campaigner

What will my gift do?
For more than 60 years in the University District (serving the North Seattle, Sand Point, Ballard, Greenlake, and Lake City  communities), the University Family YMCA has earned its reputation for innovation and effectiveness in a diverse range of programs that bring out the best in people.  The support of generous donors helps guarantee that this commitment will continue for generations to come.

Contributions to the University Family YMCA's Partners With Youth Campaign support positive, values-based programs for children and families. Your donation stays in our community, with 95 cents of every dollar going to life-enhancing programs and financial assistance.

Success stories

A Homeless Youth's Story:

"The YMCA drop-in is a space that is open to everyone and allows us to feel secure and comfortable around our peers.  Most other agencies in the U-District close during the weekend, so we are often outdoors dealing with the elements for most of the day.  It is so important for our mental, physical and emotional health to have a safe warm place to go, even if just for a few hours.  It gives me a space to clear my head and detach myself from what's going on out on the streets.  Anyone could become homeless...and most people don't think about that.  I believe that if you help someone when they are in need, someday someone will be there to help you."

A Family's Story:

YMCA financial assistance for child care, as well as funding for supportive family programs, is made possible by the Partners With Youth Campaign.

Katy, Ingrid, and their children are like many families and members at the YMCA.  Thye both work full time and work on balancing their personal and professional lives.  "I really support the Partners with Youth campaign and what it does to support YMCA programming-- especially teen and families, " says Katy.  "The YMCA has really good programs, their teen and childcare programs are excellent, and they are doing great things for the community as a whole so I want to keep supporting that."

They see how important programs for kids are, and the necessity of helping to provide for others who can't make that financial stretch has become even more important
to them.  Says Ingrid: "I get a lot out of the YMCA-- far more than the monthly fee I pay to be a member there."
