Why invest in positive solutions?
Help make your community a better place through the YMCA.  Join with donors who share the belief that regardless of the challenges children, teens or families face, their unique talents can be strengthened.  Your donation supports Metrocenter YMCA's programs promoting youth and young adult development, providing the critical tools that give vulnerable community members a greater chance for success.

Your gift is greatly appreciated and fully deductible as a charitable contribution.  The YMCA is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization under IRS code.

What will my gift do?
For more than 30 years, Metrocenter YMCA has earned its reputation for innovation and effectiveness in a diverse range of programs that bring out the best in people.  The support of generous donors helps guarantee that this commitment will continue for generations to come.

Contributions to the Metrocenter YMCA Partners With Youth Campaign support positive, values-based programs for youth and young adults. Your donation stays in our community, with 95 cents of every dollar going to life-enhancing programs and financial assistance.

Here are a few ways your gift directly impacts youth and young adults (gifts are based on ten monthly payments or a pledge paid in full):

  • $120/month or $1,200 sponsors a 115 hour internship opportunity for a low-income Career Academy student to gain valuable, hands-on work experience and connection to career development opportunities. Or it can send a middle school girl on a ten day life changing experience on Orcas Island with the Patsy Collins Adventure in Leadership program, where she will build confidence in her leadership abilities and develop life-long skills.
  • $50/month or $500 will scholarship a middle school boy learning to rock climb among the granite cliffs and spires of the Cascade Mountains while learning how to become a man through the BOLD summer expeditions. You could also introduce the outdoors to a low-income high school student who will experience their first-ever camping trip with the YMCA Earth Service Corps' "Got OP?" overnight excusion to the Olympic National Park this summer.
  • $25/month or $250 can purchase supplies for the Alive & Free (previously Street Soldiers) program, which educates middle and high school students about peer-to-peer violence prevention within their communities.
  • $10/month or $100 can pay for GED testing for one student who has studied to meet basic education requirements and is ready to move on to employment and community college training.

Gifts to the YMCA's Endowment Fund provide a stable, enduring source of funding that protects the YMCA's ability to positively influence the community for generations to come.  Endowed funds are held in perpetuity according to donors' wishes and wisely invested. A portion of the interest earnings is used as designated for program support, college scholarships, financial assistance for low-income participants, facility maintenance, international initiatives and general YMCA support.
