Our Facilities Include
A 25 yard swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness center, group exercise studio, a youth center and more. In addition to the programs offered at the Meredith Mathews East Madison YMCA facility, we operate Community Learning Centers at Aki Kurose Middle School Academy, Hamilton Middle School, Meany Middle School and Washington Middle School. Other community programs include parent/child programs, youth and adult sports, and aquatic programs.
Drop in child care - Kid's Corner (Ages 3 months to 6 years)
Kids Corner offers children a variety of safe, stimulating, and fun activities while parents work out. Kids Corner is available to those with a Family Membership at no additional charge.

Closure week will be from Sunday, June 27th through Tuesday, July 6th. During the week of closure we encourage you to visit our other YMCA's of Greater Seattle.

Namesake Information
Meredith Mathews was Branch Executive for our East Madison YMCA from 1957 through 1965. That year, he was named the first African American Pacific Region Associate Executive for the YMCA of the USA. He retired from the YMCA in 1976 after 39 years of service. The branch was renamed in his honor in 1993 after a major renovation and expansion project. Meredith Mathews East Madison YMCA is the only Y branch in our Association named for an individual. Meredith passed away in the late 1990s, but he still has family in the Seattle area. In fact, last spring his grandson was honored with a YMCA Black Achievers Scholarship to attend college.
