Work Weekends
Camp Orkila hosts a volunteer work weekend throughout the year. It is a great way for you and your family to connect with camp, share your talents working on specific projects and have lots of fun at camp.
2009 Work Weekend Dates:
March 13th - 15th
May 15th - 17th
October 16th - 18th
Examples of projects are:
Trail Clean-up
Storm Clean-up
Archery/Riflery Clean-up
Campfire clean-up
Cabin Clean-up
Barn work
Dock float repair
Clear the site for a new campsite
And much, much more!
Families are welcome to attend, however childcare and recreational programming is not provided. Please, no unaccompanied minors. Lodging, food and transportation from the Orcas Ferry Landing are provided. Please call 206-382-5009 for information and reservations. Click here for more information.

Transportation Bus Volunteers
Assist YMCA Office staff and Camp Orkila counselors transporting campers to and from Camp Orkila. Greet parents and campers, load luggage, supervise campers en route to camp, ride the ferry with campers and provide assistance to staff. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be able to commit to the month of July and/or August. Application, background check and training must be completed in the Seattle office.
