This past November, the Y announced its largest annual fundraising goal yet: nearly $4.8 million to meet the increasing critical needs of the communities we serve in King and South Snohomish Counties. The Annual Fund Drive brings thousands of donors, members, and volunteers together to support and strengthen their communities.

Donations to the Annual Fund Drive provide financial assistance to families in need, like Maria’s who suffered a terrible loss when her husband unexpectedly passed away earlier this year in a tragic accident.

Suddenly Maria was a single mom, responsible for four children and all the bills, and had no family in the area for her to turn to. The Y was there for Maria and her family.

Because of support from donors like you, Maria and her family slowly began to adjust to their new lives. Financial assistance gave Maria’s children a fun, safe place to go while Maria worked. Y staff provided caring mentors for Maria’s children, and a support network for her.

While it will take time for Maria’s family to heal, she is grateful for the support she’s received from the Y, and from donors like you.

In addition to financial assistance, the Annual Fund Drive provides camperships, free and reduced swim lessons, meals for kids and families, healthy living programs, housing for homeless young adults, and more to tens of thousands of people in need every year.
