You're ready for change and looking for some options. Wonderful! At the Y we believe you owe it to yourself to be healthy and happy. We believe even small lifestyle changes can lead to great results and the community you'll find at the Y can be a powerful force in helping you achieve those results.

Maintaining a favorable weight level is an important part of our overall health and well-being. Research has shown that your health can be greatly improved by a loss of just 5-10 percent of your starting weight. That doesn't mean you have to stop there, but it does mean that an initial goal of losing 5-10 percent of your starting weight is both realistic and valuable. Being lighter leads to more energy which provides momentum to move even more. And when we're lighter and more active we feel better about ourselves and how we relate to those around us.

We'll partner with you to develop a solid plan that is realistic, tailored to your needs and that will help you reach your goals. Then we'll introduce you to others at the Y who will provide support as you take the first steps on your journey.

Not surprisingly, food is the aspect of weight loss most of us dwell on most. "If I can just find the magic diet I can be successful." But diet is just one of the three keys to unlocking weight loss success. Our nutritional consultants will work with you to develop a sensible approach to eating that's in concert with maintaining an active lifestyle and takes into account the psychological aspects of behavior change.


Y Nutritional Consultations

Your nutritional needs are as individual and unique as you are! We can help you discover ways for you and your family to achieve optimal health through a variety of nutrition options.

From cooking classes to consultations to access to organic produce, the Y will provide expert, up-to-date information that will help you learn how to purchase, prepare and consume nutritious food that is good for your body.

We all know that being more active will help us lose weight and make us healthier but getting started is a big step. We can smooth the process with one-on-one coaching and programs that will allow you to start by taking smaller steps. The Y offers a wide variety of programs, equipment and activities and we'll help you discover what's enjoyable for you.


Y One-on-one Coaching

When you join the Y you’ll receive a free initial appointment with a lifestyle coach to form your personalized wellness plan, as well as a follow-up in a couple of months. You'll get help focusing on the health and lifestyle changes that you would like to make and setting goals that are clear and realistic. During that time we'll get to know you better, learn about your needs and interests and work with you to develop a step-by-step activity plan that's tailored to you. We'll walk you through our cardio and strength equipment so that you're comfortable with it and talk to you about different programs and classes and introduce you to instructors. If you like, we can even help you find a personal trainer who is a good fit for your needs.


Healthy Mindset & Behavior Change

Research has proven that our beliefs and attitudes are some of the most important determinants of success when it comes to making major lifestyle changes. We'll help you employ important self-management strategies like stimulus controls, peer support networks, self-monitoring and self-rewards, to overcome barriers that come between you and your goals.


Y Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Change Program

A signature program of Y-USA, Healthy Lifestyles Behavior Change is a scientifically proven program that uses group dynamics and one-on-one coaching to help you achieve your personal goals, whether it's losing weight, exercising, reducing stress or curbing an undesirable habit.
