From a preschool parent "I have qualified again this year for the third time to make a $500/$250 donation to the charity or charities of my choice. Absolutely I choose to donate the full $500 to Coal Creek Family!!
In 1999 - I divorced and was a single parent returning to work with 2 preschool daughters, I was given a monthly scholarship from the Y to help me to get back on my feet. I could not have returned to work without the financial help. I promised I would someday, hopefully be able to repay the money and afford someone else the same opportunity I was given.
It's the best I can do for now. I have my own financial issues with the events of the last year, but I know there is always someone in need of more help.
Please apply this money to the scholarship fund for parents in need of financial assistance.
Thank you to the entire staff for the hard, important work you do every day! I know you often go without a thank you, or without any recognition for all the good you do daily. I myself have been guilty of being too busy to say thank you."
A Note of Thanks
From an Adventure Guide participant "Thank you so much for allowing (my daughter) and I to attend this year. We had a very special weekend and I very much appreciated your kindness and understanding in these very challenging economic times. I am hopeful in the near future I can “pay it forward” on my end and make a contribution to help others."
Healthy Living "Since joining the Coal Creek YMCA and going through its Healthy Living Program, I've learned how to incorporate successful and realistic behavior modifications into my life to become healthier. Unlike any other manner of weight loss I've attempted in the past, HLP has taught me how to be healthy without having to sacrifice or suffer (yes, it IS possible!). It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. By learning how to adopt the right healthy behaviors, I've already lost 35 lbs. and have much more energy than before. HLP provides the tools and a great support group to help personalize the program for each individual's needs."
